Maintaining Your Skagen Watch Ensure that the crown is returned to the normal operating position before the watch comes in contact with water. Do not take your watch into a Hot Tub or Sauna. Cleaning Your Skagen Watch Skagen proposes the following solutions for cleaning metal and crystal surfaces: 3:1 solution of ammonia based window cleaner to water 4:1 solution of rubbing alcohol to water. Do not use soap products. These suggested solutions will evaporate cleanly from metal and glass surfaces. Soap will leave residue behind when dry. To clean the case and crystal: Moisten a soft cloth with one of the above solutions. Gently wipe the case and crystal clean. Be careful not to put too much stress on the crystal as you clean. *NEVER immerse or soak the case/crystal share of the watch, irrespective of water resistance rating. Moisture could seep past the seals over time. To clean the band or strap: Skagen soft mesh bands are effortlessly adjustable. Simply insert a little screwdriver or similar tool into the clasp. Lift up the clasp without applying pressure to the thin pin throughout the clasp and move to desired position. Snap closed securely. Make sure the clasp is set in one of the indentations on the back of the band. Link bands are completely adaptable anyplace watches are serviced. Skagen proposes the following exercises for cleaning metal, rubber and leather surfaces: Metal watchbands Dip a cotton swab in the above solution, and gently rub it into the soiled share of the band. For more intricate mesh bands, you may want to use a soft bristle toothbrush or nailbrush. Be sure to cover the case of the watch for the duration of this procedure so as not to soak it. For stubborn soil, you may want to fetch it to a jeweler for a professional cleaning. Rubber watchstraps Simply wipe them down with a damp, soft cloth. Avoid soaps and solvents as they may arid or crack the plastic. Leather watchstraps: Top Grain Top grain leather may be characterized by it is smooth, somewhat shiny appearance. To clean this type of leather, follow the same procedure as with the rubber watchband. Simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth, using water only. You may want to use leather conditioner or a little amount of hand lotion to keep the leather supple over time. Top grain leather may fabricate a milky “haze” if left alone for extended periods. This may merely be wiped away or got rid of with leather conditioner. Leather watchstraps: Nubuck This is fundamentally full grain leather with the top layer shaved off, leaving a flat, smooth finish. A product called a “nubuck eraser” may be found at better shoe repair shops. It will support to remove most light stains and debris from nubuck.

Great looking, Great value, but troubles with band

I wrote the review underneath a few days after I received my watch. I still love it but had to return it because after only a few months the black color started to vanish from the band to disclose a silver color underneath. . What I didn’t observe in the original paperwork is that this happens to all the watches, but it’s supposed to take 2 years. So, be careful. It’s still a nice watch, but will need maintenance. Also, there are a good deal of times for the duration of the day that the time is not easy to read because the hands blend in with the background.

Original review: I have only had this watch a few days, but I am actually happy with it. It looks far more pricey than it is. I agree with the person who says the multifunctions are too little to read but, as far as I am concerned, they are for show, not function. The time is easy to read and the rose gold on black is in truth beautiful. The band is exceedingly comfortable and locks securely. I have little wrists and, though this has a huge face, both the band and face are very thin, fit securely and look great. The band is metal mesh, but looks like leather. The only downside for me is that I thought I would be capable to swim with this but the 3ATM rating is only good for a shower or quick immersion, not any sports use. I’d highly commend it as a casual/dress watch for everyday.

Love Skagen Watches- This is my bestloved Skagen

I confess it – I’ve turned into a watch junkie. It employed to be $50 Timex’s but now I lust after Patek-Philippe – Not that I would ever buy one – If I had that much “extra” cash I’d endow a university or a home for wayward kittens or something.

I love Skagen watches becuse they are thin, light, very elegant, and moderately priced. I have 4 of them. This is my bestloved Skagen watch. I get compliments each time I wear it. The Rose Gold (NO that’s not copper!) plating is somewhat distinctive but goes with everything from a suit to a t-shirt. The band is wholly and effortlessly user adjustable. I have had it for more than a year and have not seen any changes to the color of the band, as one reviewer mentioned. It keeps perfective time. I set it to an atomic clock a year ago and it’s only lost a few seconds. I do confess that the secondary dials are a bit hard to read, but I need new glasses, so perhaps that’s why

This is a great price, by the way. I purchased mine at a division store for $185 – before I came across that you NEVER buy a watch at a division store or jewelry store unless they are on a huge sale. Much less costly online almost each time. The mark up on watches at merchandising is 100% to 200%, so it’s not strange to find the same thing online for 50-60% off!

Execrable Service

Beautiful watch – it was a Christmas present; but the crystal spontaneously cracked after two months. Watch sent back to Skagen for “warranty” substitute of crystal – got charged for it.
