The Tissot Story
For more than 150 years, Tissot has embodied the innovation and tradition of Swiss watch-making. Based in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains, in Le Locle, Switzerland, Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile invented the watch making company Tissot in 1853. Whether in the engineering science of it is movements, in the exploration for particular materials or in the very functions of the watch itself, Tissot’s engineers and watchmakers have invented pioneering timepieces over the years.
Some of Tissot’s triumphs over the years include the the Idea 2001 (the world’s firstborn plastic watch) freed in 1971, the Rock watch (which set the timepiece’s motion in a stone case made from Swiss Alps granite) in 1985, and the Wood watch from 1988 (with a wholly wooden case). Tissot uses the best movements (from ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse), the most eminent quality materials (316L steel, 18K gold, titanium) and scratch-proof glasses (sapphire crystal–at least 2500 Vickers).
The company has been involved with high profile sports events since 1974 when they sponsored a racing car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. Since then Tissot’s timepieces have been chosen as official timekeepers for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. And Tissot is presently the the official watch and timekeeper of NASCAR.
Tissot timepieces have been worn by a bevy of celebrities over the years–including Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley and Nelson Mandela–and James Stewart’s reputation L.B. Jefferies wore a Tissot timepiece in Alfred Hitchcock’s “Rear Window.” Today the company is represented in a assortment of sporting fields by English soccer star Michael Owen, IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, and MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden. Tissot Touch broke after 2 1/2 years By Goro Great watch but for a list price of $900 you would suppose it to last for more then 2 1/2 years. The whole multi function including display just stopped working one day. And I have been treating it like a cherished baby, no diving, no swimming, not even bringing it to the beach. Believing it was only a battery substitute I sent it off to Tissot, but NO. Tissot have cited me a cost of repair (replacement of: multi function/movement exchange) for $400!!!! 6 months after warranty expiry.

The best watch I ever bought By Dewgunner Firstly, I am not a watch connoiseur. Far from it, I have been known to wear cheap, lasting watches from Casio or even Timex if need served it. Neither makes bad watches. However, with the new T-Touch Tissot has surely outdone itself. It is each man’s mystery wish toy, and it’s stylish to boot.
So why will have to anybody consider plunking down cash on this extravagant piece? Where do I begin?:
Firstly, it has an exceedingly ergonomic design, with nice clean lines and a finely polished Titanium exterior. It is sturdy to the point of fault, resisting more wear and tear than you’d think possible. It was, after all, designed with the idea of outdoor use in mind. But the most impressive feature of this watch is, of course, the touch screen that allows a myriad of functions with the simple pulse and touch of your finger. You may navigate through an alarm function, a compass, barometer and even altimeter with the biggest of ease and functionality.
In short, the design of this watch straddles uttermost functionality and finelooking design with the biggest of ease, making this watch covetible and utile by both persons who wish to make a bold statement when it comes to their style as well as humans who want a watch that is functional with further and added bells and whistles but won’t die at the slightest tap. This is the perfective watch for any man.

excellent product, fast delivery By Shane Dempsey I purchased the Tissot T-Touch from Amazon merchant Kenmar Watches. The watch arrived in Ireland from the US in 3 days which was very impressive. Tissot’s making something publicly available box is very nice and the watch also came with an further and added 150th anniversary book on the history of Tissot. Well cherished by a hard core watch gatherer like myself. I will have to confess that I presently have a Zenith Rainbow, an Omega SeaMaster, a Seiko Kinetic, a Citizen AquaLand and Mares Nemo in a collection which is tipped to a considerable degree in favour of dive watches. The chunky titanium styling of the T-Touch is in keeping with the rest of my horological wardrobe and is much appreciated. As is the light weight of my Titanium version. The overall finishing is magnificent with a sapphire crystal of authenti quality , a comfortable and graceful bracelet and the polished titanium case. As quartz goes this is exceedingly exact and is presently only 2 seconds slow since I got it a month ago. The carbon fibre dial is well finished and is a nice touch. The lumed markers are thin but without doubt or question visible at night.
The modern features such as compass, barometer, thermometer and altimeter are all exact within reasonable tolerances. However, the thermometer is affected by body temperature (as expected) and the altimeter calculates based on atmospheric pressure so it ought to be calibrated prior to use from a known altitude. With rectify calibration it works fine. I’m not sure I’ll use the features all that much but they are functional and this watch is not a toy. The only reasons I didn’t give it 5 stars is the annoying lack of electroluminescent lighting for the LCD display which render the features useless at night. Water resistance of only 30 metres is less than idealisti but hey, it’s not like I lack a watch I may wear while snorkeling. If you need a backlight get the solid titanium protrek from Japan. Otherwise get the Tissot, it’s very stylish.
