The Tissot Story

For more than 150 years, Tissot has embodied the innovation and tradition of Swiss watch-making. Based in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains, in Le Locle, Switzerland, Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile devised the watch making company Tissot in 1853. Whether in the technology of it is movements, in the exploration for particular materials or in the very functions of the watch itself, Tissot’s engineers and watchmakers have formulated pioneering timepieces over the years.

Some of Tissot’s triumphs over the years include the the Idea 2001 (the world’s introductory plastic watch) freed in 1971, the Rock watch (which set the timepiece’s motion in a stone case made from Swiss Alps granite) in 1985, and the Wood watch from 1988 (with a exclusively wooden case). Tissot uses the best movements (from ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse), the most eminent quality materials (316L steel, 18K gold, titanium) and scratch-proof glasses (sapphire crystal–at least 2500 Vickers).

The company has been involved with high profile sports events since 1974 when they sponsored a racing car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. Since then Tissot’s timepieces have been chosen as official timekeepers for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. And Tissot is presently the the official watch and timekeeper of NASCAR.

5I have the blue dial
By D. Varga
Large, heavy man’s man watch. Gets a great deal of looks and the bracelet is just beautiful. Keeps magnificent time as most quartz movements do. I use it as an every day casual watch and have banged it a good deal of times, the sapphire crystal remains scratchless. Thought with regards to buying another or gathering all three colors.

This watch could be bettered if the night illuminators didn’t take so long to charge. Also it lacks a perpetual calendar but the date is easy to change and only has to be done once each two months.

Try this before spending $2000 – $5000 on breitling, tag, omega

1What? No Warranty
By A. May
I purchased my Tissot PRC 200 last fall and it’s beautiful! But, it always ran when it comes to 2 or 3 minutes slow each week. I called Tissot (Swatch Group USA) and they said send it in for fix since it was still under warranty. But when they received it they notified me that they do not offer a warranty for watches purchased on the internet and adjusting my watch would be a full service charge of $200. I am very disappointed in Amazon for not showing that as a disclaimer and Tissot for their policy.Tissot Men’s PRC 200 Chronograph Watch #T17.1.586.52

5top watch
By si
Bought this watch with regards to a week ago, looked at all the choices around the same price and read all the reviews, genuinely happy with my choice. The watch face is rather big but looks great and the bracelet is likewise excellent. I have slim wrists and it still looks amazing, the pictures do not do it justice it looks much nicer in the flesh so to speak. I would highly commend this watch even over other more highpriced examples.
