5Great “Economy” Caliper
By David Lindamood
This caliper is low on price but strong on performance! There is not one thing actually cheap with regards to this, it is lightweight, due to the fiberglass reinforced nylon framing. But it is accurate, with an easy reading dial and a thumb roller with friction grip stop. The dial has both .01″ and 1/64th” increments on the dial, with mm on the bar scale.

It’s best feature is the 4 way measurement. It does inside measurement, outside measurements, plus a “step/graduation” measurement (height of table saw blade, or router bit) and depth measurements (hole depth). This is a very versitial caliper. I have found it to be very exact is it is readings, it may effortlessly be re-calibrated by turning the glass case cams.

This caliper is made in Switzerland for General Tool. A great product that I am very happy with, commended for all.

5Great Little Tool!
By David C. Henkemeyer
I’ve been using this tool for a few months now, and it sure is handy. My firstborn project was making a box joint jig, and this thing made my measurements dead-on accurate! A will have to have for any woodshop.

5the best dial calipers to use with organic jewelry
By Erica Skadsen
I’ve used these precise dial calipers for years for measuring natural body jewelry. We exclusively use these calipers in my company, and find them to be far superior to those cheap and inaccurate brass ones. As they are made from fiberglass reinforced plastic, they do not mar the jewelry surfaces as metal calipers often do. However, this means that the jaws will at long last wear down with repeated use (check to see that there is no light appearing among the measuring surfaces, particularly at the tips), making amount of time alternate necessary with popular use if accuracy is of high importance.

The glorious thing with regards to these calipers is that fractional, decimal, and millimeter measurements are all available. There is a handy mini-conversion chart on the back side of the calipers that makes fragmental inches in 64th’s having little impact to understand. Inside and outside diameters are easy to measure, as are the less ofttimes applied (by us, at least) step measurement and depth gauge.

The only drawback, as noted above, is that the pointer on the dial may get knocked out of position if the calipers are dropped, altho this is remedied by either twisting the dial back to zero with the provided knurled clear plastic covering to match the new position of the pointer, or removing the plastic covering and manually moving the pointer back to the 12 o’clock position.

A note on price: we’ve found these for underneath $30 at big home betterment stores.

    you can not comment or laugh at anyone if you don’t know where it’s coming from. OH yea you can stay and say “Oh who cares, it’s easy to just leave Afghanistan” but yea i forgot that you’re not actually there witnessing the combat zones. I have a cousin in afghanistan, support the troops, whether you support the war or not, they are people doing **** that we would not want to do. hey how about bring back the draft to get people to care again?

  12. Erin says:

    Can somebody explain to me why this guy finds it funny to laugh about sending more troops? Not only is it McChrystal asking for more troops but almost every other high ranking officer out there even British Generals and officers are asking for more troops, I bet you these guys no more about winning wars than some fat nerd on the internet.

    Next time you laugh look at yourself and remember why you are not a four star general.

  13. Gerald says:

    i agree with you, if McChrystal wants more troops there should be no discussion. Obama should not be talking to his “lawmakers” before he gives the go ahead. If he doesn’t give McChrystal the boots he needs America will not keep quit, my brother, my friends, and X hubby is over there fighting this war, if they need back up than they should get it.

    remember Bush said anyone who harbors Terrorist is an enemy the the US. Saddam said i’m not giving anyone up. So he had 17 united Nations warrants out for his head so we called in the ticket. the Terrorist were running into Iraq and Saddam would not give them back!! Research before you speak!!

  15. Eldon says:

    Why laugh war is not fought with only 20 men. People thought WW II was costly, how can anyone ever, put a price on freedom, would you rather the war be here? People are not paying there bills because Obama has not given the Jobs that HIS stimulus package was to produce. As for the missal “CHANGE” it’s a bad thing Poland is our friends, LEARN your POLITICS!! before you speak. Obama has done nothing for this country as of yet, humm it’s been 9mths…..

    Reginald, great comment on housing starts and season. Seen the vids on newly built homes being bulldozed, also the fancy ones with the very rich squatting in them with 3 vehicles in the driveways.

  20. Willy says:

    paranutz, Afghanistan is about US battling Russia under the table for Caspian Sea oil and gas. Actually it’s on the table, but we have a problem with the press here.

    It’s about the TAPI pipeline:
    T- Turkmenistan, gas
    A- Afghanistan, from Herat through Kandahar
    P- Pakistan
    I- India.

    And it’s about US bases in Afghanistan, like Shindand, near recent massacres. Near the pipeline route and Iran.

    It’s about the much more economical Iran to India pipeline. The ghouls are drooling.

    Our defense of Europe and Asia is crutial. If we pull out we become isolated and our interests become limited. We would be at risk of greater danger. Yes Alexander the Great, England and USSR lost because of lack of resources. USSR lost because we(USA) introduced the stinger missle and pressured them on everyfront around the world in the Cold War. No one is unbeatable…this includes the Taliban/Al Qaeda Mujahadeen.

  22. Mason says:

    In regards to Afghanistan. The War..which Obama the stated we needed to get our eye back onto, is sitting on his hands and doing nothing. McChrystal is a great General and knows more than Law Makers and the President. If Obama doesn’t want to fail he should listen to the General. Reducing Military Bases is not even rational.

    30 to 40 thousand is just immediatly he wants 500,000 on the ground for 5 years.

    need trainin for Guerilla style war thingy…..
    these Afgan fighters are weak but they are well trained for their soil……

    But I also do feel that Pakistan is the main culprit here, there are terrorist camps, they supply fighters and involved in nuclear proliferation with Iran, North Korea and Libya…….[China provided Pakistan the nuke facilities]……

  25. Heidi says:

    the USA is in Afghanistan and Iraq:
    merchants of war and oil;
    population control and reductions;
    seizure of assets in the Middle East;
    a shift of global players in those areas;
    extending War on Terror but is used more as to trample the US citizens’ rights and also the Constitution;
    for staged or natural allowance of hatred and potential terrorism from other countries towards the US;
    weaken our miltary and country for the coming rebellions,revolutions, and Martial Laws.
