I too purchased this glove to use with my mandoline slicer, but now that I have it I use it with my microplane and other feed graters as well. I thought it might be a bit cumbersome, but it’s not at all. I think it’s necessary to do not forget that this glove is cut RESISTANT, not cut proof.

The glove fits my hand very well, but I may see that it might be too little for others. I ordinarily wear a woman’s size little glove. This microplane glove is rather flexible though, and I’m sure it would effortlessly fit a woman’s size medium or even large. One man’s review here gives evidence of he was struggling but managed to get it on his more prominent hand. I agree there must be one or two other size options, and this is the only reason I didn’t give this a 5-star rating.

It goes without saying that the glove will need cleaning after using it to hold feed versus a slicer or grater. It is machine washable, but not machine dryable. Although expensive, this glove is a time and hand saver! I use it regularly when slicing horizontally into onions, shallots, etc. to protect me from cuts when the knife blade slips. It also works outstanding for protecting my fingers and fingernails when I grate cheese on a box grater. Using the Microplane glove means that I may grate gruyere right down to the rind and refrain from nicking my fingers up or having nail polish chips getting into the food.

Good investment!!

I absolutly love this. I purchased this to use with my mandolin. It’s a piece of mind knowing that in case I slip with the guard, I have this glove as backup. I think in the near future I’ll buy another glove for the othr hand, just in case I forget and do something stupid with the other hand! Getting cut is no picnic. For me it takes when it comes to a week to heal (minor cuts/no tendons involved) and doing my each day chores takes forever.

Lie to Me based on real life work of Paul Ekman

When I saw the dismal review with one star rating in regards to which was regarding Fox network and not the tv show Lie To Me, I had to write one. Lie to Me is loosely based on the real life work of psychologist Paul Ekman. I studied numerous of Ekman’s work and read one of his books. This is work that we all need to do

After 30 years as a licensed Marriage and Family counselor, I now
make it a point to commend _How Can I Get Through to You?
(Reconnecting Men and Women)_ to each couple in my practice. As
a man, husband (32 years) and father (of a son and daughter), I
credit this book with altering my life.

Although I have seen these issues play out over three decades of
leading collaborators through couples therapy, the wisdom and insights
that I’ve gleaned from this book have offered me a new

perspective from which to aid couples help themselves.

Terrence Real speaks of the breakdown of couple relationships as
a mirror of societal gender conflict. We (patriarchal culture)
socialize boys to be competitory and girls to be compliant. When
men and women become joined in marriage, it is a union of two
different species. However Real moves beyond merely describing
the divergences amongst men and women by recommending a radical
course of bringing the genders back into remainder – and wholeness.
He refers to this as 1) endowing the woman and 2) reconnecting
the man. This core conception actually speaks to me for I find that
the majority of the couples in my exercise are living examples of
the corrupted communicating patterns that Real describes through
his model and illustrates so well in case studies.

The biggest clear or deep perception that I received from this material is an
understanding of the unfathomed affect of the early disconnection
of men. As Real explains, both girls and boys are severely
wounded for the duration of the socialization routine – but the harm to
boys is more substantial because their disconnect (from
relationship, from their sensations and from all that is considered
“feminine”) occurs at such an early (between 3 and 5 years) age.

THIS BOOK MAY HAVE SAVED MY MARRIAGE!!

I have read everything out there to undertake and salvage an eighteen year relationship. I saw myself and my husband on each page of this book. It was amazing. For the basi time I understood what was going on and why it has been so hard to talk to each other. I gave this book to my husband and insisted that we read it together and we actually talked with regards to it.
This is the smartest book on couples I have ever read. It explains why so a heap of men and women have so much trouble. It’s full of ideas in regards to how to make it better. The stories made me laugh and most times even cry, like a good novel. I loved each minute of it. And it’s just brimming over with casual remarks that are so profound. Like this – “The great paradox of intimacy is that in order to sustain closeness we have to be competent of bearing solitude inside the relationship.” Or what Terry calls, “normal marital hatred.” There are a million of these. I candidly may say I’d like to see every one who wants their kinship to work to read this. It must be passed out along with marriage licenses. It is far and away the best thing I have ever found. Thank you!

Dont read the book without a highlighter ….

because, Im telling you… you will be sorry like I am now, going through the book the second time with a yellow highlighter (use the color of your choice,blue, pink whatever) On the other hand if you read Real’s other book “I Dont want to Talk regarding It” introductory (but I’m not talking with regards to it now) and then read this book you will receive an education of a lifetime, particularly if your married and would like to stay that way. The share in regards to greiving for what you do not have in your marriage was specially critical to me, but there is SO much! I am a therapist with a private clinical practice, working principally with adolescents and women of all ages who are survivors of galore form of trauma, including sexual abuse and incest. I have to say, that this is the book I use most, with all ages, including women who are uncovering and dealing with painful abuse memories. Over and over I listen clients proclaim that the book and quotes from other survivors support them not feel so alone and to also grasp better what happened to them and to know there is hope. Also, the way in which the author discloses her own incest history and recovery is freshening and hopeful and establishes a climate of believability and trust. In my 20 years of clinical exercise and training, I have aquired and read $1000′s of dollars worth of trauma books and materials and this book sits as one of the top and most often times used resources. Also, there is a children’s book called “BRAVE BART” which has been a wondrous resource for adult survivors as well as children and adolescent survivors.

first real healing experience

This book is great. I started reading books on the subject of sexual abuse when I was 15 (when I told) and am now 19. I have read all of the frequent book out there on this subject (paticularly The Courage to Heal by Ellen Bass) and have found others helpful, but none of them have ever equated to How Long Does it Hurt. It helped me a lot to realize that what happened to me was horrific and was actually abuse and that it was okay for me to feel the things that I did. I’d commend this book to any and each survivor out there. Teenager or not. It very well could be a lifesaver.

This Book is Truly a Life-Saver

I purchased this book two years ago at age 18. It has become a type of bible for me. It answered all the questions that were swarming around in my head and let me know I wasn’t alone. I’ve highlighted passages to talk about with my therapist or my family and I re-read it regularly. I commend it to anybody who has has or knows an individual who has been abused.

If you are a college student or are the parent of one, you know how necessary it is to have the means to compensate your on a monthly basis expenditures like rent, gas, and feed – not to mention tuition and books – using cash alone.
